IF YOU FIND ME by Emily Murdoch

Book Blurb (from goodreads):
Carey is keeping a terrible secret. If she tells, it could destroy her future. If she doesn't, will she ever be free?

For almost as long as she can remember, Carey has lived in the heart of the woods with her drug-addicted mother and six-year-old sister, Jenessa.

Their mother routinely disappears for weeks at a time, leaving the girls to cope alone. Survival is Carey's only priority - until strangers arrive and everything changes...

My review:

To be honest I do not know what I was expecting from this book but I defiantly was not expecting this. This book was brilliant. I was expecting an average book about two sisters in the woods with their drug addict mum chasing away strangers and trying to survive. Instead I got one mute sister one mature sister which get thrown back into the modern world and try to adjust with a new found dad, a mean new step sister, school and boys. Oh and throw in a secret that gets hinted at through out the book but we are never told what it is until the last chapter. This book was cleverly written and I loved the flash backs during the story to help us understand what Carey is talking about. The way how Emily Murdoch made even a toaster or a tooth brush (which is just a part of mine and your daily life) look fascinating and new was genius.
The romance between Carey and  Reyan I found really sweet and not rushed.
The only thing that I did not understand was that as we were nearing the end there were these snippets of poems between some of the paragraphs which i couldn't find any meaning too.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars but it is so near to perfect!
